In November 2007, after the announcement of Jurong West new service, we (Joanne & Adrian & I) saw a vision to set up new cell group in NTU, so that more people from this community can be blessed by the love of God.

With vision and dreams in mind, what's next?

Answer: ACTIONS!!!

We came out with the idea of one cell group in two locations because during that time, the previous cg location (Eunos) is too far especially for the NTU students. A few months after building the NTU connect group, we had our first meeting in March. Subsequently, people came and for the past few months the NTU group is stabilizing and now we are working towards multiplication.

So, it's a vision from God, should be easy right?

Answer: Dreaming is easy!

Haha! Initially, there were 8 of us in NTU connect group, but guess what, it dropped to 4 even before the starting of new service! But, we refused to bow down to the situation and continued walking as if the vision has come to past.

Joanne sacrificed her time and effort by leading cg twice a week (1 in Eunos, 1 in NTU), and also attending two different services (saturday expo, sunday Jurong West). While Adrian and me fighting in the NTU field, all sorts of late night visitations and outings that required us to stretch our physical and mental capacities especially when Adrian needed to wake up early from Monday to Friday for his attachment.

In short, all of us did this not during convenient time, but during usual days as students.

Of course, during the past half a year, setbacks and bad things still happened despite of serving God's will. All 3 of us faced with difficulties and also bad news in our own lives. But thank God for His mercy and grace, we still kept on walking...sowing...praying...etc.

Result?

Indeed, God moves when we move. Currently the NTU side has 20 people in the church administration system, we are still working on to bring in the harvest and also strengthening the current people spiritually. We had gatherings, Cg, outings, birthday celebration, etc for the people to build relationship. Nothing fancy, simple things with everyone serving and contributing.

Now, let the picture speaks!

Here, I would like to share with you all some promises of God:

1) Walk by faith, not by sight

In our journey, troubles may come, trials seem so long, but always remember that situations are just temporary, and the only way out is to keep on walking. His grace is sufficient.

2) Faith without work is dead

Many times we pray without actions, or come out with alot of fancy ideas or nice songs or even slogans. But what God wants to see is just small action mixed with pure faith, and He would multiply our work.

3) 5 loaves and 2 fish

For God, qualifications do not matter. Just give Him what you have, small talents, big talents, small money, big money. Do our best and He will do the rest. Do not be weary in doing good, for in due season we shall see the harvest.

4) Never despise the days of small begining

Every big journey begins with a small step, every giant structure begins with a small sand. What are the small things? Collecting forecast? Tithing? How about be responsible for our own spiritual habit such as attending service, cg, prayer meeting, Bible study? Be faithful in little things, and God will entrust us with greater things.

5) Deny yourself, and carry the cross daily

Have I felt like giving up? Sure! How many times? Countless! Then how? We walk by decision, not by feelings. It is no longer us who live, by Christ who live in us. We can choose to live a low life, or to die like a soldier for Christ. Praise God and serve God no matter what situation may come, even at the risk of losing our lives!

6) Be bold and of good courage

Sometimes, we need to fight the battle alone, to face the giant alone. Are we going to runaway? Or are we going to face it, be dare to take risk, to stand out from the crowd of soldiers thrembling with fear?

7) Loving God, loving people

Without the right motive, all things are in vain. Whatever that we do, it is only for one and only one reason. That is the love for God, and the people. Love is the expense of self, for the benefit of others. So cultivate and learn how to love! Pure sacrificial love with no condition.

Thank you all for praying for us, and also thanks Joanne for your leadership and sacrifices, things would not be so good without your encouragement and visionaries. Of course, ALL glory to God our heavenly father!

So friends, it's time to grow up. Stop crying, but standing up. Throw away the milk bottle, but take up the sword. Stop complaining, but loving. Stop sitting, but stepping out. Stop taking, but giving. Stop having self-minded, but having Kingdom-minded. Stop seeking temporary things, but lust for eternal things.

Stop dreaming, but doing!

Ah Seng.

Sometimes, we think that as long as the man that we are trusting in is nice looking then it settles everything. BUT I believe in having a man with good character and attitude too. Well, guys can jia you oh!! HEHE

This should be inspiring:

The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's in the width of his arms that encircle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good a buddy he is with his children.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected he is at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his heart, that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved.
It's in being true to one woman.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens he can carry.

Love, Joanne

@6:15 PM

I knew that I have to start getting the ball rolling now because there is no other way except through Him. Like wad I have said, no one can satisfy you except Him who knows exactly the desires of your heart.

He brought me back to the time when I said that I want to be a leader.

It was a large meeting at the Kallang Indoor Stadium and Rev Ulf Ekman was preaching. During the ministry, he called for all the main helpers and leaders to come down to the altar call to receive an anointing. I also wanted so much for the anointing but I am not a main helper neither a leader. So I said to myself, "I want to be like them too. Receiving the anointing that You are giving to them." Definitely when much is given, much will be required.

I saw Denise and Roy walking down and somehow I knew that I wasn't God's plan A.

Today, He reminded me that I wasn't His plan A, it was suppose to be those people who went down. BUT according to my FAITH, it was given to me. He also reminded me about the same thing that He mentioned during service in the last few weeks.

Jesus did not come for the Gentiles but for the Jews. BUT the Gentile woman did not lose heart and said "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your FAITH! Let it be to you as you desire."

I experience greater anointing, even more than what I imagined compared to the time when I just started out as a CGL. The CG has already experienced many signs and wonders with great power of God moving mightily during the CGM. People could see visions and dreams, sing in the Spirit, sense the power, the fire of God; I prophesied and healed the broken hearted. Like Elisha who cried out for a double portion of Elijah’s anointing, I cried out to Him.

TRULY, it’s not by might nor by power but by the SPIRIT.

TODAY, I am speaking to the mountain of growth. We can GROW and will GROW EXPONENTIALLY to 50 by February 2009. I have a dream and He will NOT be slackened in His promise BUT never ceasing to always make it happen! "For He will build His church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it!"

I’m speaking to the mountain of life that Ezekiel 37 shall come to pass that in this group of youth will arise the MIGHTY MEN OF VALOR!

Love, Joanne

@5:15 PM

On Saturday, someone shared about the wonder of water molecules that is relatively similar to us as human beings. A research done by Masaru Emoto found that what we say and what we do to the water molecules affects the type of crystals form upon crystallisation due to vibration and energy of the environment.

For your information, he is not even a Christian!! HAHA.

He did a research by using songs, words, pictures and prayer to prove a point!

How do the crystals look when you say “I kill you, you make me sick!”? It’s disgusting!

BUT how do the crystals look when you say “Thank You!”? Beautiful and wonderful!!!

The crystals formed were even more delicate and amazing when words of love and appreciation was spoken.

Amazing isn’t it??

I think he got so excited that he decided to do a test on the water molecule from
the Fujiwara Dam and found that no crystals were formed instead yellowish mercury looking substance was created.

He was curious and wondered why it looked so horrible and ugly. Then he realised that a woman actually committed suicide at the lake which is linked to the dam. Hence, he asked a couple of people to come together to pray over the water of the dam and he found the amazing change in the formation and look of the crystals of the water molecule taken from the same place: Fujiwara Dam.

To blow you even further, he discovered that the more people gathered together to pray, the more intensive the prayer, the nicer the crystals to the extent that it formed 7 sided hexagonal crystals!!!

Wonderful isn’t it???

The point here is what you say and what you do affect the inner you. Today, start to think positively and believe the best in you and form the most beautiful crystal within you because no matter how situations may seem, there is Someone out there looking out for you and can’t wait to pour out His love.

Sometimes, we think that we are not worthy of the One. BUT we forgot that we did not choose Him BUT He chose us and called us by our name.

*CHEERS!!*

Love, Joanne.
