Have you ever wondered what you will do if you really want something that badly?

Still remember the whole Hello Kitty incident when MacDonald’s came out the whole series of cute and unique Hello Kitty cum Dear Daniel soft toys? People are so willing to wake up extremely early in the morning to join the long queue together with the rest who had the same mentality before it runs out of stock. Not that they wanted to eat the Big Breakfast or Hotcakes but they make that sacrifice and effort just to get a pair of Hello Kitty soft toy for their children, friends or even love ones like girlfriends.

Thinking that it is super childish and simply ridiculous for people to go such an extent for soft toys? What about young adults and youths who queued outside the Louis Vuitton shop in Takashimaya simply to have a chance enter? Many young couples and young woman dressed in casual Bermudas and jeans and tank tops queued to enter the BRANDED shop to show that they can afford such luxury items long with many others.

Why go through so much trouble?

Many people did all these because they had a herd mentality. Where the crowd is going, I will follow. This is driven by the words like: PEER PRESSURE and self esteem. Others did out of love.

That goes for products BUT what about people? What would you do for the Person that you love so much?

I have a friend who did the extreme for the very man that she thought she loves. She will take the great effort to travel all the way to his house from the far west to the central north to talk about matters and issues that seems to blow up into a quarrel in the middle of the night. Or even calling him hundreds of times through his mobile phone and house phone to reach him even when his mother has informed her that he was sick, was resting and do not wish to pick up the phone.

This is extreme but it just reveals the will power of a person who is fighting for what she believes is important to her. She will search for it until there seems to be no other way.

What about us? What do we do when we wanted something very much? What do we do when we wanted something that we have taken for granted?

Today, I talked to a group of youth. There are many times, youth claims that these things are very important to them. BUT when it went missing, they never seem to do much or anything about it. Instead they sit at one side hoping that someone will search for it on behalf of them or better still if it dropped from Heaven.

What about the story about the “the Lost Sheep”, “the Lost Coin” and “the Lost Son”?

Great things don’t come easy. People told me that good things on this Earth never come free because we got to put our hands in and work for the things we wanted so much. Throw our sweat and blood in to get the things we believed in. Definitely, we do not compromise our integrity. We ask and keep on asking, we seek and keep on seeking, we knock and keep on knocking until it was given to us, until we find it and until it is opened unto us.

The point here is:
Let’s get out of our seat and do something about it with our own hands because nothing will ever drop from Heaven. There is a purpose when we are created with a pair of hands. USE IT! =P
